Demo updates - past and future

Hello all!

Just thought I'd give you a small update as to progress with the demo and full game.

I'm currently working on a few updates for the demo, specifically:

  • Upgrade project to Unity 2021  (done)
  • Fix bugs caused by upgrading project to Unity 2021 (done)
  • Sort camera profile and blends bugs you probably hadn't spotted (done)
  • Fix a bug where two pieces of music overlap if you load into the Chapel scene from the front end (done)
  • Fix a bug where one note in Medical will trigger Jacob's dialogue every time it is used (done)
  • Add game saving - just which scene you were in when you quit to begin with, will expand further for full game (done)

These should all be in demo version 0.1.2 coming soon (once I've tested it all out) and after that it will probably be intermittent demo updates as I continue working on the full game.

As for the full game, the current plan of attack is:

  • Storyboard and blockout the next scene
  • Add in the Devotion system for dialogue choices (which will also eventually link in to the different endings you can get)
  • Incrementally add full saving so you can continue from exactly where you were instead of just the start of the level
  • Create a 'show interactibles' button, to highlight all objects on screen you can use
  • Add a credits screen

And that's all that's on my plate for now - keeping it simple, clear and manageable.

I'll let you know when the new version of the demo comes out, but until then, take care!

Tony.

Sounds great! Is there any chance of a WebGL or macOS version any time soon?

Don't have any plans for them, and as I don't own a Mac I wouldn't be able to test any builds (and I wouldn't want to release anything I hadn't personally tested) - but never say never!  :)
