I'm still working on it!

Hello!

Yes, despite the lack of updates this past month I'm still cracking on with PENITENCE. Been busy with real work and some DIY so haven't had as much time and/or have been too tired to do any #gamedev in the evenings.

So here come the bullet points - duck!

  • Scene 4 (the Tram one after the demo ends) - I did lots of work setting up a big reveal cutscene for this area. It's there in a basic form, with no special animations (which will be needed) and it finishes properly. So, overall I'm happy with it for now.
  • Scene 5 (the area after the tram ride) - much the same unglamorous dev work as for the first three areas: setting up triggers for dialogue and interactions, a bit of swapping out the blockout for actual geometry to get an idea of how it will look, and making sure it's playable all the way through.
  • Also set up the remaining scenes so they can be entered and walked through, even in blockout form.
  • Some background work on the computer terminal to make it generic - it was 'hard-coded' with just the Medical screens for the demo, but you will find them in later levels too, so had to undo some stuff I did to make it work.

The next explorable area!

And that's it! Like I say, nothing incredible, just the day-job of getting content in and working, although I have been writing some more dialogue for the final few levels, after discovering that past me had left that piece of work for future me to do. Well that's now me, so past me sucks :|

Tony.
